We had a strong wind storm.
So the repeater coordinators got a group together.
Then took the antenna and tower top section down for repairs.
Then your favorite repeater chairmen and ground crew placed the antenna back in place. Last report has the repeater working to its full potential.
We put together a crew of Curtis, N5VLV, (tower climbing) Sid, WD5H, Rick, KD0RMK, George, N5GED, and myself ( ground crew). We arrived at the Castroville repeater site at 0800 to replace the antenna and feedline of the 147.200 repeater. We huddled up and had a tail gate safety meeting. Then, we commenced to lay out our plan of attack.
First, we took down the old antenna and readied the DB products bay antenna for the replacement. Second, attached the new antenna. Third, prepped the 1/2 inch Hardline. Fourth, attached the hardline to the antenna and down the tower. Fifth, into the repeater box and connect.
Finished and ready to GO. The crew, less Sid who took the picture.
